Suzie and Val travelled to London last week for the American Crew Face Off Finals. Out of 850 entries, we were honoured to be selected in the top twenty in the UK.
The event at the roof top Paramount Restaurant and bar in central London started with champagne and cocktails. We were then treated to a fantastic lunch before a catwalk show of the new American Crew ‘Mattematic’ collection of hairstyles followed. It was amazing to to get the chance to chat to and get advice from some leading mens hair experts as well as mens magazine and web experts.
Whilst we didnt win the final prize (a trip to LA!) we had a fantastic time and the competition was unbelievably strong. It was inspiring to be amongst these talented hairdressers who are so passionate about mens hair.
We are now looking to the future and are starting to get inspired by next years competition and we will try for 2013!

American Crew New Faces Competition Nov 2012

The Players Lounge travelled down to Manchester last weekend for the American Crew New Faces 2012 Competition. This amazing event, held at Old Trafford was a huge success. The night started with the team getting the chance to look at the other entries followed by an spectacular catwalk show and then the awards ceremony. Out of hundreds of entries and after two previous years attempts, we are delighted that Suzie has been selected to be in the top 20 in the UK. She will go to London in February where the head of American Crew US will choose his final three winners. The winners fly to LA to do a professional photo shoot with American Crew. American Crew are world leaders in men’s hair and it is a huge honour for the salon to be selected in the final 20. The team worked really hard and we are very proud! The awards were followed by an after show party where the Players Lounge celebrated their win resulting in a few sore heads travelling back to Edinburgh on the Monday!
Sasha leaves, Sara returns & Ian is Manager!
August 25th, 2011Our lovely Aussie stylist Sasha has sadly left the salon to return to the sunshine and her family in Australia. We will miss her and wish her lots of luck for the future. We do have good news however, and Sara is now back from her maternity leave. She is back part time so call the salon for details of when she is in and to make a booking with her. Last but not least, we are delighted to announce that Ian has been promoted to Salon Manager. He will now be working 4 days a week and will be taking on his new role as of the 1st September.

December 3rd, 2010Whilst we didnt win the big prize, we were delighted to be shortlisted for the American Crew New Faces Competition in Manchester on Sunday night. Ian and Suzie battled the snow to get there and had an amazing night at the catalk show, prize giving and after show party.
